While so much of the younger generation is already in the know to any phone life hack to make their day easier, however, if you’re like me a 40 something that needs a little bit more guidance on how to enact these shortcuts, this post is for you.
I would say that one of my biggest life hacks for getting things done is using voice to text. Currently, I am out walking my dogs while writing this. My headphones are in and my phone is in my hand. I simply have a note opened up on my phone And I am using the microphone to dictate what I am writing.
So how do you do this??
Well, here is your tutorial in photos
So in your search bar in your phone type in notes :

Then open the Notes and click on a new note which looks like this :

From there, you will hit the microphone button on the bottom, right side of your phone, which looks like this :

Now just start talking away. I have learned that overtime your phone will get better and better at recognizing your voice and correcting words based on it making sense in your sentence.
Now, when it comes to punctuation, you literally just speak and then say the word “period” or whatever punctuation mark you are trying to end your sentence with .
Then once you’re done, you hit that yellow button on the top right that says done :

Now, as I am writing this for the purpose of putting on my blog, when I get home to my desktop I simply copy this entire note by selecting it and hitting copy. Then I can either email it to myself or I just use the AirDrop function to send it to myself.
Honestly, for me once I learned how to do this I have been able to be so much more productive and efficient with my time. Now you will have to read over and edit your writing then make simple adjustments when needed, but doing that is so quick and easy which is just like proof reading anything before you send it anyways. Using speech to text will add so much more time in your day and for me personally my head is more clear when I am out walking and with this method, I can just talk and get down what I want to say rather than needing to take the time to type it or hand write it. I might have been there, and I do know this.
